Fire Hydrant Flushing - Beginning Monday, November 6th

Falls City Utility staff will flush fire hydrants starting November 6th, Monday through Thursday, from 7:30 am to 3:00 pm, weather permitting. The flushing of over 200 hydrants should be completed before Thanksgiving.
This regular flushing process serves several important purposes. Firstly, it helps to remove sediment, rust, and other debris that can accumulate in the hydrant's water pipes over time. Clearing this buildup ensures that water can flow freely and at the necessary pressure during emergencies, enabling firefighters to respond swiftly and effectively. By routinely flushing fire hydrants, cities are able to safeguard public safety and maintain the reliability of their infrastructure.
