Monday, February 18, 2019
Business executives and local residents are taking advantage of the convenience offered by Brenner Field. As an all-weather runway located in Falls City, Brenner Field makes it possible to fly in and out of our hometown, as opposed to making the drive to Lincoln or Kansas City. For local pilots and executives with corporate aircraft, the convenience is unmatched since, from Brenner Field, it is easy to travel throughout the Midwest, and to do so in style.
Flying from Brenner Field is a Lot of Fun
Many of Falls City’s residents have taken up flying as a weekend hobby. With Brenner Field located in town, it could not be easier to purchase and store a private aircraft, or to take flying lessons. In fact, the local fixed base operation provides aircraft rental, flight instruction and fuel (100 LL and Jet A), making it easier for residents to fulfill their dreams of becoming a pilot.
Falls City is a Popular Destination
With a convenient location, all-weather runway and new terminal, Brenner Field has seen an increase in air traffic. It currently handles over 4,800 landings per year, most of which are smaller corporate and private airplanes. The lit, paved runway is ideal for pilots looking to fly directly to or near their final destination. With 4,000 feet of hard surface, all-weather runway, Brenner Field is open year-round.
New Terminal at Brenner Field
To accommodate additional air traffic, a terminal building with a 160 x 400-ft. concrete apron was constructed. The new terminal includes a pilot lounge and a courtesy car that can be used to get into town. In addition to the terminal building, a new 70 x 100-ft. maintenance hangar can accommodate eight single-engine aircraft at once, with space for an additional 25 aircraft in the surrounding hangers.
