A Period of Conservative Operations Declared

The SPP has declared a period of Conservative Operations for its entire 14 state balancing authority footprint effective 12:00 pm central time on Thursday, July 29th through 8pm on Friday, July 30th. The need for a declaration of Conservative Operations is due to hot-weather conditions, high electricity use, and concerns related to available generation capacity that are expected to persist through our (SPP) afternoon peak on July 30th.
