Falls City Ordinance Gives More Authority to the Health Department

The City Of Falls City Is In The Process Of Adopting Ordinance 2020-101 Relating To Control Of The Prevention Of Spread Of Communicable Disease, Illness, Or Poisoning And Adoption Of Rules And Regulations For The Prevention Of Spread Of Communicable Disease, Illness, Or Poisoning.

The Ordinance ensures that the Health Department has the authority it needs to make decisions related to public health and to receive support in enforcing them. 

Here is what the Ordinance represents for the citizens of Falls City:

The City of Falls City hereby adopts the Regulations for the Prevention of Spread of Communicable Disease, Illness, or Poisoning as adopted by the Southeast District Health Department. A current copy of such regulations as they may be amended by the Southeast District Health Department shall be kept on file with the Municipal Clerk.

The City of Falls City hereby authorizes the Southeast District Health Department to exercise control over the health matters covered by these regulations and to enforce the same within the jurisdiction of the City of Falls City.

The City of Falls City agrees to assist the Southeast District Health Department in the enforcement of the regulations adapted in §4-204, to the extent of the City of Falls City's ability to provide such assistance, and the City of Falls City shall cause its agencies and departments to take all reasonable steps to fulfill and carry out the purposes of this Article. 

That persons violating the provisions of this ordinance shall be subject to the Penalties as set out in Section 4-401 of the Falls City Municipal Code.
