A Tree Planting

A Black Hickory tree was planted in Legion Park on September 10, 2016 to memorialize the ultimate sacrifice of 5 brave service man from Falls City, Richardson County Nebraska who were killed in action during the Vietnam War:
- AGary Wayne Dunn – Army
- August Paul Holtz – Navy
- Melvin Ernest Kuhlman - Marine Corps
- Carl Robert Marrs – Marine Corps
- Robert Dennis Murphy – Army
The tree was donated by Mr. and Mrs. Mike Simon and the plaque bearing their names is donated by Mr. and Mrs. Don Baldwin. The Tree and Park Boards are working on a memorial design that will be erected in this same corner of Legion Park for all service men and women who have sacrificed their life during war.
