The Falls City 2018 National Night Out was a great success. Community members joined together with the Falls City Police Department and other first responders to celebrate the community, stand against crime, and to build relationships. As Police Ofc. Zachary Ractliffe said, “It’s extremely important for us to have strong community relationships and kind of our slogan this year, with our shirts and our water bottles and these wrist bands, is ‘in Falls City no one fights alone.’ And that’s true. I mean we are all in this together. The police are the public and the public are the police. We live here too. We want to have a safe community and we’ve got to do it together.”
Building a strong community, together.
The focus of National Night Out is to bring the community together, enhance relationships between law enforcement and community members, and to stand together against crime. This community event, in its’ 35th year, highlights the strength of the community and the positive things that happen when law enforcement and community members have a good working relationship.
People came from throughout the area to attend Falls City’s National Night Out. Some came to support law enforcement and the good work they are doing in the community. Others, especially young children, came to see the helicopters, use a fire hose, and to enjoy the free and tasty food. This is truly a community event that brings people of all ages and walks of life together.
This year also featured a walk against crime from the Stanton Lake Park to the Falls City Aquatic Center. Community members joined forces with law enforcement to show that they are taking a stand against crime in general.
Keeping Falls City safe.
National Night Out sends a message that communities are strong when working together. Side-by-side, community members and law-enforcement are helping to keep Falls City the safe, thriving and friendly place that all of us love to call home.
