Building Permits


Citizen Procedures:
Permits are generally required for any construction or renovation, including plumbing and electrical work. Permit fees are based on the value of work being performed. To determine whether a permit is required and/or obtain a Building Permit, contact the Building Inspector at 402-245-2851, between 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Varies, based upon value of work. Fees double if work is started without obtaining an approved building permit.


Inspections


Citizen Procedures:
It is the citizen’s responsibility to contact the Building Inspector at City Hall when your project is ready for inspection.

Plumbing and Electrical Licenses


Contractor Procedures:
In addition to any required State of Nebraska Contractor licenses, Plumbing and Electrical Contractors may obtain licenses required to perform work in the City of Falls City at City Hall between 8:00 a.m.  to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Unsafe Structure Complaints


Citizen Procedures:
Any complaints are handled by the Building Inspector at 402-245-2851 between 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. These complaints are investigated and if action is necessary, the Inspector would contact the owner to make repairs or demolish the structure.
