Humane Society Report
An account has been opened at the First National Bank and Trust Co. to receive donations for a Richardson County Humane Society animal shelter.
Donations are tax deductible and can be made at either the main bank or drive-in location.
…In previous years, up to 40 or 50 dogs were destroyed annually. Thanks to the Humane Society’s work, that number has steadily declined. Last year (2006) marked the first year that no adoptable animals were put down.
The Humane Society provides necessary community services on an all-volunteer basis. Spay and neuter vouchers are provided with every pet adoption in order to limit populations. In 2006, the Society aided in the spay/neuter of 41 animals.
All funds donated will be used for the proposed shelter.
In the meantime, we have the need for more foster care providers so that we do not have to turn away those in need, because of the lack of shelter. If you can help or for more information, call 402.245.2779 for 402.245.3766. …..or visit our website Humane Society of Richardson County, Inc., or write to P O Box 365, Falls City, NE 68355.
